Tom is a computer scientist and programmer.
He has lectured on [optimising compilers]((https://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/teaching/2006/OptComp/slides/)) at the University of Cambridge and written about technology for the Guardian. He co-organises the Ruby Manor conference and is a member of the London Ruby User Group and London Computation Club.
Tom is currently writing an ebook called “How to Write a Web Application in Ruby”. His previous book, “Understanding Computation”, was published by O’Reilly in 2013.
